I have had a fascination and love of Irises for many years. The challenge of capturing the delicate folds of yellow, white, and purple colors in these irises was what inspired me to create this painting. Irises are such a beautiful flower, and they only bloom for a few weeks out of the year. My inspiration also came from wanting to save their image in a painting, so they could be enjoyed all year long.
