A goldfinch is perched on a blooming violet lilac bush - summertime has arrived! The familiar fragrance of lilacs in the air always reminds me of my childhood. Inspiration for this painting came from the beautiful and fragrant lilac bushes in my yard, and goldfinches that visit all year long.
My name is Kathryn Duncan. I am an artist and painter, and find my inspiration in nature's beauty, colors, and backyard wildlife, especially birds. During the past several years, my artwork has focused on watercolor painting, and I've developed a passion for this medium. My work explores these subjects during ordinary, yet extraordinary moments.
